I take Dunlops on all my Fenders, and my Les Paul.

You tin buy just the buttons and put them on your guitars so you don't have to purchase a total kit (for strap and guitar).  I have three straps I used depending on which ane I feel like using on whatsoever given twenty-four hour period.  They rotate through well-nigh a dozen Fender guitars and basses, with full interchangeability.

If I didn't already have the Dunlops, I would probably buy Loxx

because the Dunlops stick out a lot.  It's non a big bargain on Fenders, only on whatsoever guitar with the neck side button on the dorsum of the guitar (Gibson SG, Ibanez Hollow body, most of my Danelectros) they stick out far enough that they would exist objectionable against my large, economy sized belly.  The Loxx straplocks are a much smaller contour.

The upside for Dunlops is that if you find yourself without a lock equipped strap, you tin can use a regular strap just fine.  The Loxx straplockss pretty much commit you to using their locks and nothing else.

Of class, you can always use the rubber gaskets out of Grolsch lager beer bottles or buy 5/16" rubber fender washers from Home Depot or Lowes.  They fit right over a standard strap button and will near e'er guarantee that your strap won't come off.  that'southward actually what I am using on my Danelectros right now, because I accept no intention of irresolute the buttons on those guitars.

Schaller on all my guitars. Been using them since the 80's and never had i fail.

I tin as well utilise a strap without the lock, so its versatile.

A nice comparison between the Dunlop and the Schaller

And a dainty overview of several can exist found here.

    My ii cents,
I mounted Dunlops on mine and I bought a guitar that came with Schallers. I haven't experiences any problems with either.
What accept washed to all my guitars is to take a hybrid approach. I employ the strap locks on the butt of the guitar and use a Grolsch condom gaskets on the top buyyon at the horn.
    Hey...works for me.

Yep. Simple and cost constructive. I don't even buy them, they were just an example. I get to the local hardware store and get house rubber washers. v cents each.

I've had strap locks earlier but then each guitar has to accept it'southward ain strap or they all have to accept the same strap locks.

I institute information technology to be a PITA and no more than secure than a prophylactic washer.
